At the age of twenty-one he was a Corporal in Cromwell's Army. In 1648 Richard's outfit was moved to Ireland. Here he met and married Elizabeth Jackson. In 1665 Richard and Elizabeth were converted to the Quaker faith; thereafter he was imprisoned for being Quaker. Richard died in prison, April of 1668, at the age of forty-one. He was the first Friend interred in the Friend's burial ground located outside the South Gate, Cork, Ireland. Issue of Richard and Elizabeth Pike: 1. Elizabeth Pike, M. Henry Weddon 2. Joseph Pike, b. Nov. 15, 1667, d. 1729 3. Ebenezer Pike 4. Richard Pike Jr. 5. Sarah Pike 2. Joseph Pike, first son of Richard and Elizabeth Pike, married Elizabeth Rogers, daughter of Francis Rogers, a Friend minister. Issue: (14 born, 7 survivid) 1. Richard Pike 2. Mary Pike m.
